Comment: I was 60 on Saturday 14th May and my wife Kate’s birthday was on the 16th so I was looking for a very special meal but we had hired a cottage in The Cheviot Hills miles from anywhere and we didn’t want to drive – the answer was to hire Giusseppe !! Never had a personal chef before but what an experience !!! Saying the food was amazing does not do it justice it was much better than that – the canopies, the lamb risotto, the butternut squash soup with butternut crisps and homemade croutons, the ricotto and spinach ravioli, the lamb balatine with baked beatrout, the halibut with herb crust, the lamb with apricot, date and fig sauce were all superb (with Giusseppe’s home made grissini / assorted breads) and his homemade icecream was the best we have ever tasted. We couldn’t manage the Creme Brule and Crepe suzette with orange sauce as we were fit to burst but they still tasted lovely the next day.
But more than that Giusseppe’s company and his infectious enthusiasm for cooking made the whole experience unforgettable. And the fact that he drove 140 miles round trip to do this for us – priceless. I would recommend Giuseppe to anyone who wants the most wonderful meal with the bonus of his company.
